When Andy, one of the founders of Brookhaven Market, traveled back home to Greece, he cherished moments spent beneath a beloved fig tree nestled in his family’s garden. The sweet, sun-ripened figs were a delightful treat, and each bite transported him back to his childhood. So enamored by their unique flavor, Andy started bringing the luscious figs back to the U.S., where he would dry them to savor between his trips home. This passion not only kept a piece of Greece close to his heart but also led to the figs becoming a staple import at Brookhaven Market. Today, these dried figs continue to reflect Andy’s love for his heritage, connecting our community with a taste of timeless tradition.
